Super Mario is, without a doubt, Nintendo's crown jewel and one of the greatest symbols in video game history. More importantly, Super Mario Odyssey has officially earned a place on the list of my all-time favorite games — something that says a lot about the impact it had on me. I'm sure that, at Nintendo's offices, such an achievement would be cause for celebration.

Super Mario Odyssey is simply spectacular, and it had been a long time since I'd had this much fun with a video game. The way the adventure of Mario and his new ally, Cappy, is structured constantly conveys the feeling of being inside an interactive amusement park, full of creativity and possibilities. The story follows the series' classic formula — simple in its essence — yet it's still packed with memorable moments, including a surprisingly fun ending.
One of the game's greatest highlights is the enormous diversity between the different kingdoms. Each one features distinct visuals, creative ideas, and unique challenges, demonstrating a remarkable level of imagination and care on the part of the development team. There's a constant sense of discovery, as if the game were always one step ahead of the player's expectations and ready to surprise once again.
The attention to detail is evident in practically every aspect of the experience. From level design to the way mechanics are introduced and explored, everything conveys the feeling of a highly polished project, thought through to the last detail.
The gameplay, in turn, is simple, intuitive, and extremely refined. There are no artificial barriers to fun, and any player can easily get into the game's rhythm and enjoy it from beginning to end. It's an accessible experience, but at the same time rich in possibilities and creativity.
Overall, Super Mario Odyssey stands out as one of Nintendo's most complete and enjoyable experiences in recent years. It's one of those games that hardly shows any significant flaws and that constantly manages to surprise and delight the player. A true celebration of imagination and fun in video games.
